Ting Shu Kiong

The youngest of four siblings, he completed his tertiary studies at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) after being awarded the Sabah State Governor’s (TYT) Scholarship under the Top Ten Biasiswa Cemerlang programme for achieving Top 2 in the State of Sabah in the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 1992 examination. He completed his Bar studies at BPP Law School in London, UK, in 1997 and was subsequently called to the Degree of the Utter Barrister of the Bar of England and Wales.

After completing his studies, Mr. Ting chose to return to Sabah and has since practised as a lawyer for over 27 years. He is presently the Managing Partner of Messrs S. K. Ting & Co., Advocates & Solicitors.

Prior to his involvement in politics, Mr. Ting was active in various NGOs and charitable organisations such as Lions Clubs International, the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) of SJK(C) Lok Yuk, Likas, Kota Kinabalu, the Kota Kinabalu Lions Ambulance Service Society (LASS), and served as Legal Advisor for the Young Malaysian Movement (Kota Kinabalu).

He joined Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) in 2020 when the Party established its Api-Api Division. He is currently serving as the Deputy Division Head of the Api-Api Division (N.20). Over the past five years, the Api-Api Division has carried out many projects and community activities in and around Kota Kinabalu, including food aid programmes and the provision of basic amenities to the communities in Telipok, Sembulan, and Karamunsing, as well as support for the police force in Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran, Tuaran Hospital, and victims of fires and other disasters in Putatan and Telipok.
